10. Cala en Paiàs
Fishermen cottage Cala en Paiàs
In communion with nature…
Formerly it was a house of “roter”. The “roter” was a humble peasant, to whom his “master” (peasant in charge of the management of the rural property of s’Estalella) donated a small and very poor area of the property, called “rota” (broken) that he did not intend to cultivate. The name of the hut comes from a neighbouring cove, Cala en Paiàs, so named because of the marine currents and prevailing westerly winds which brought large amounts of algae to the shore.
The hut is simply stunning thanks to its enviable natural setting, which doesn’t neglect its traditional style and distribution. It has a large space where we find the kitchen, a spacious dining room and a spacious living room. Within the walls, and heated with an ingenious system, we find the bedroom, as cosy as a den. Outside there is a terrace of marés sandstone, in communion with the wild nature of the surroundings.
Get to the hut, remove your shoes and feel like Robinson Crusoe.
