Natural Environment
S’Estalella-the fishermen cottages are located in the Fishing Village of Sa Punta de S’Estalella, a former idyllic fishing village which dates back to the sixteenth century. Due to its architectural and anthropological value, it was listed as Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) by the Council of Majorca in 2007.
Thanks to its historical, geographical and environmental uniqueness, the property is listed by multiple forms of protection. The European Natura 2000 network listed it as SPA (Special Protection Area for birds) and SCI (Site of Cultural Interest). At the state level is an IBA (Important Bird Area). It is also registered as ANEI (Natural Area of Special Interest) and AANP (Natural Area of Special Interest with high level of protection) by the Balearic Autonomous Community.
The rural property S’Estalella is a milestone in the struggle to preserve the environmental heritage.
